Since I moved over to Gmail quite a while back I've gotten away from using a desktop email client and really have enjoyed Gmail notifier. The one hitch is that when I set it up the initial configuration on my Ubuntu 8.10 install wasn't working when I clicked "Go to inbox".
My first solution was to simply replace the default entry for "Browser path:" on the configuration screen with "firefox". This works but opens into a tab on an exhisting firefox instance which may be minimized and hard to determine which window was the target if you have a lot of firefox windows open.
My preferred solution was to replace the "Browser path:" entry with "firefox -new-window".

This way Gmail will be opened in a new browser window.
