Google Apps and Blackberry Update

I'm not sure if anyone else was experiencing a similar problem but I know there were a few hiccups for a number of folks using Google Apps for their calender along with their Blackberry. I am on Verizon. I recently switched from a Motorola Q (Black) and MS Exchange to a Blackberry 8703e and Google Apps when I left my previous employer. It took a bit of getting used to, but over all worked quite well until a little over a week ago when all the appointments on my Blackberry calender were an hour earlier than they were supposed to be. They were all still correct if I logged in to the Gmail web interface or if I pulled them down to Lightening etc. I also had problems with Sync not working. After a few days of it not resolving itself and not finding I quick fix I noticed the Gmail application on my Blackberry was crashing occasionally as well.

I didn't find any help in the forums other than their being an update available for the Blackberry. The 4.2 update for Verizon customers is availble here. It took about 10 minutes to install. Worked perfect and although I heard reports from some people that they thought the update slowed down their Blackberry, mine seems to be running faster and all my Google sync issues have been resolved.
